Mitcham is a district of South London in the London Borough of Merton. It is centred 7.2 miles (11.6 km) south-west of Charing Cross. In part of clear urban density but mainly a suburb of houses with gardens, it is close to the cut-off of Inner London and Outer London, and has traces of its former village in the historic county of Surrey.
